Common Ground is taking summer campers around the world through its 2016 summer camp! Each week, campers will explore a different part of the world through dance, art, cooking, sports, field trips and more. In addition, campers will have twice weekly swimming through Reston Association. Learn more and register today!
Common Ground is celebrating NAEYC’s Week of the Young Child April 11-15th. Parents are invited to join their children Friday, April 15th from 5:30-6 pm in the Great Hall for some musical fun with Rockstarts.
Scholastic Book Fair April 4th-8th
We are hosting a Book Fair April 4th – 8th. The more books we sell, the more free books Scholastic will donate to our library! Books will be available for sale every day during the fair from 4:30-6:30 PM and we are holding a community story hour on Wednesday April 6th from 10-11 AM. Please help us spread the word in your neighborhood. If you would like to volunteer to help sell books and get parent hours, please sign up on our CG SignUpGenius.
Family Nutrition Night March 24th 7-8:30 PM
March is National Nutrition Month. To celebrate, Common Ground is hosting a Family Nutrition Night in the Great Hall. Come learn about healthy eating for the whole family with Registered Dietician Melissa Meyer and Family Doctor Hannah Phillips. Snacks will be provided and children are welcome although no childcare will be available. This is a great opportunity to socialize with other Common Ground families and pick up some nutrition tips!
Looking for a fun, interactive way for your school age child to discover great artists? Enroll them in Common Ground during FCPS spring break (March 21-25, 2016). Each day, students will learn about the masters through projects and/or a field trip. See the “Space Crew Spring Break 2016 Schedule” for details.

Exciting News About Meal Services at Common Ground!
Ensuring that our children at Common Ground receive consistently high-quality, nutritious, and nourishing meals and snacks is part of the exceptional care that CG provides. The Board of Trustees recently spent considerable time with support from a registered dietitian reviewing meal service options and decided that moving to a quality outsourced food service is the best option for our children. Therefore, as of March 16th, all meals and snacks served at Common Ground will be provided by the Good Food Company. Some key points about this service:
- Good Food prepares all meals on a daily basis from fresh, often organic, ingredients sourced locally wherever possible
- Meals are delivered daily ready to serve to the children family-style
- Menus are enormously varied and are available for the entire school year so parents can easily see what their children are eating each day. 2015-2016 menus:
